Terengganu immigration authorities arrest 20 foreign nationals

The Terengganu Immigration Department’s Enforcement Division conducted a series of operations, including Ops Selera, Ops Sapu, and Ops Mahir, across Kuala Terengganu, Marang, and Dungun on 17 August.

During the inspections of seven locations, including residential premises, food establishments, and a storage facility, 47 individuals were checked. Authorities arrested 20 people suspected of immigration offences, including not possessing valid permits or breaching permit conditions. The detainees, aged between one and 57, included 13 Thai nationals and seven Myanmar nationals.

All 20 individuals were transferred to the Ajil Immigration Depot for further investigation under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and Immigration Regulations 1963.
