Teresa Puig researches superconductors for energy and fusion

Dr. Teresa Puig, a research professor at the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC), is advancing research into superconducting materials to improve energy efficiency and sustainability. Her work focuses on materials that conduct electricity without resistance, which could significantly impact energy distribution and the development of nuclear fusion technology.

Puig suggests that nuclear fusion could eventually contribute approximately 20% of the world's required energy. Her research into superconductors also has practical applications in magnetic levitation for transportation and medical technologies such as MRI machines.
