Teresina celebrates 174 years with municipal solemn session

The Teresina Municipal Chamber held a solemn session to celebrate the 174th anniversary of the Piauí capital. The ceremony took place at the Tribunal Regional do Trabalho (TRT) auditorium and included local authorities such as Mayor Silvio Mendes and Chamber President Enzo Samuel.

During the event, artist and humorist João Cláudio Moreno served as the official speaker, reflecting on the city's historical and cultural trajectory. He noted the unique nature of Teresina's foundation as the first planned capital built in the Brazilian interior, rather than along the coast.

Mayor Silvio Mendes used the occasion to discuss his administration's focus on improving urban infrastructure. Meanwhile, Chamber President Enzo Samuel emphasized the legislative branch's role in making decisions that directly impact the daily lives of citizens, noting that this would be his final time presiding over the city's anniversary celebrations.
