Teresina celebrates 174 years with special programming

Teresina is celebrating its 174th anniversary with a series of special events organized by the local government. The commemorative programming includes religious services, such as a Mass of Thanksgiving at the Igreja Matriz Nossa Senhora do Amparo, and official ceremonies including a solemn session of the City Council.

Cultural activities are also central to the celebration, featuring the awarding of the Conselheiro José Antônio Saraiva Merit Medal and a concert by the Teresina Symphony Orchestra at Parque Estação Cidadania. The festivities extend through Monday with additional religious services to mark the capital's history.
