Tereza Đelmiš reflects on life after Miss Yugoslavia title

Tereza Đelmiš, the former Miss Yugoslavia, has shared details of her life after decades away from the public eye. Born in 1951 to a working-class family, Đelmiš rose to prominence at age 19 when she was crowned the most beautiful woman from Vojvodina and subsequently won the Miss Yugoslavia title.

Despite the fame and attention from the Belgrade social scene, Đelmiš prioritized her education, returning to school to complete her studies before enrolling in the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade. Her personal life included a relationship with journalist Dragan Babić and a 30-year marriage to an American citizen. She has since worked as a translator, editor, and journalist, and currently resides in the countryside.
