Terminator 2: Judgment Day to Return to Global Theaters for 35th‑Anniversary Celebration

James Cameron’s 1991 sci‑fi blockbuster Terminator 2: Judgment Day will be re‑released in cinemas worldwide to mark its 35th anniversary. The film will be shown in restored 4K resolution, RealD 3D and other premium large‑screen formats using StudioCanal’s 2017 restoration and 3‑D conversion.

The international rollout begins on 27 August 2026 in Germany, Latin America and the Czech Republic, followed by 28 August releases in the United States, Italy and Poland. Subsequent dates include 2 September in France, 3 September in Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Sweden and Hungary, and 4 September in the United Kingdom. Polish audiences will see the film through local distributor Kino Świat, while other territories are handled by StudioCanal in partnership with Fathom Entertainment and Rialto Pictures.

Cameron highlighted the film’s “message of hope” against artificial‑intelligence superintelligence, saying, “the good guys win against the AI superintelligence.” StudioCanal CEO Anna Marsh and Fathom Entertainment chief Ray Nutt praised the re‑issue as a chance for new and returning fans to experience the movie “exactly where it belongs – on the big screen.” The re‑release celebrates a film that earned four Academy Awards, grossed over $517 million worldwide and remains a cultural touchstone of modern action cinema.
