Terminator 2 celebrates 35th anniversary with global 4K theater re‑release
James Cameron's 1991 sci‑fi action film Terminator 2: Judgment Day is being re‑released in cinemas worldwide in a newly restored 4K version, with some markets also offering a 3D format. The re‑release marks the film’s 35th anniversary and features upgraded visual and sound quality.
The rollout begins late August 2026, with Germany, Latin America and the Czech Republic on 27 August, the United States, Italy and Poland on 28 August, and the main “Judgment Day” date of 29 August covering most territories. Subsequent dates include France (2 September), Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Sweden and Hungary (3 September) and the United Kingdom (4 September). Distributors STUDIOCANAL, Fathom Entertainment, Rialto Pictures and Lucky Red are handling the releases.
