Terminator 2 returns to cinemas for 35th anniversary

The science fiction classic ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’, directed by James Cameron, is returning to cinemas worldwide to celebrate its 35th anniversary. The re-release features a 4K remaster and will be available in various formats, including 3D, 4DX, and D-BOX.

In Mexico, Cinépolis will host the re-release across more than 100 complexes, with national pre-sales already underway for traditional and 3D screenings. In Germany, Studiocanal has scheduled the return for August 27, 2026, a date chosen to coincide with the film’s fictional ‘Judgment Day’ occurring on August 29.

Originally released in 1991, the film is noted for its revolutionary visual effects, particularly the liquid metal T-1000 character. The anniversary screenings aim to provide an enhanced experience for both original viewers and new generations through modern technological upgrades.
