Termini Imerese to host ‘Ntinna a Mari 2026 festivities

Termini Imerese will host the ‘Ntinna a Mari 2026 festivities, an event that integrates local maritime traditions, music, and religious devotion in honor of the Madonna della Catena.

The program begins on September 5 with a live concert by ‘I Quaranta che Ballano i ’90’ in Piazza Marina. The central tradition, ‘Ntinna a Mari, is scheduled for September 6 at the Molo Trapezoidale. During this event, participants compete on a long pole suspended over the sea, which is coated in soap and grease, to reach a flag at the end.

The celebrations continue on September 13 with further sporting activities at the Molo Trapezoidale, emphasizing the community's historical connection to the sea.
