Termoli hosts literary presentations on migration and ancient Molise history
The city of Termoli in Molise hosted two literary presentations at the Municipal Council Chamber.
On October 16, 2026, author Carmine Abate presented his new novel, ‘I giorni dell’arrivederci’, published by Mondadori. The event, part of the ‘Immigrati in Letteratura’ series, explored themes of memory, emigration, and identity. The novel follows a character named Giorgio, an Italian teacher in Cologne, as he reflects on his time at the Degasperi Educational Center in Trentino, which supported children of Southern Italian families who had emigrated to Germany.
On October 20, Paola Di Giannantonio presented her book, ‘La Tavola Osca: un viaggio tra antiche radici, riti e identità del Molise’. The work focuses on the Oscan Table, a significant historical artifact discovered in 1848 in Upper Molise and currently held at the British Museum. Di Giannantonio’s research connects the ancient inscriptions and Sanniti culture to the traditional festivals and identities still present in the Abruzzo and Molise regions.
