Terna Energy aims to become leading renewable energy firm in Eastern Europe
Aristotelis Chantavas, CEO of Terna Energy, announced at Investopia that the company aims to establish itself as a premier renewable energy company in Eastern Europe. This ambition follows a major investment by Masdar in Terna Energy exceeding 3 billion euros, marking one of the largest stock market transactions in Greece.
The strategic partnership intends to utilize Terna Energy’s regional expertise and Masdar’s technological advancements to expand across Southeast and Eastern Europe. Chantavas noted that the company has already begun integrating Masdar’s existing projects into its portfolio to facilitate rapid geographic expansion.
Chantavas emphasized that renewable energy sources are critical for enhancing national energy security and autonomy, as they allow for domestic energy production. He also highlighted the environmental sustainability benefits of accelerating the development of renewable energy sources.
