Terni and Narni launch fourth edition of environmental education project

The fourth edition of the educational project ‘Siamo fatti della stessa aria’ (We are made of the same air) has been launched for the schools of Terni and Narni. Promoted by the municipalities of Terni and Narni with scientific support from Arpa Umbria, the initiative is part of a 2018 program agreement involving the Ministry, the Umbria Region, and local municipalities.

Following three previous editions that reached approximately 2,000 students, the 2026-2027 program begins with teacher training led by Arpa Umbria experts. Between February and April, students will participate in laboratory activities at the Arpa Umbria library in Terni. These sessions will utilize scientific kits and an interactive air quality monitoring station to teach students about air quality, renewable energy, climate change, and sustainable lifestyles.

A new focus for this edition is the introduction of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS), which will encourage students to explore the relationship between the environment, territory, and urban design to imagine more sustainable cities.
