Terni political deadlock over gas network sale

The proposed sale of the gas network by Terni Reti has faced further delays following a contentious meeting of the III council commission in Terni. While technical details were presented by the company’s sole administrator, Alessandro Campi, and director general, Fabio Moriconi, the primary obstacles remain political.

Budget Councilor Michela Bordoni defended the operation, asserting its financial sustainability and strategic importance for the city's growth. However, opposition from the ‘Con Bandecchi per Terni’ group and several individual councilors has stalled the vote. The political tension is exacerbated by recent friction between Mayor Bandecchi and four former AP councilors, who are no longer aligned with the majority.

Councilors have requested written clarifications to ensure informed voting. While a further discussion session has been promised, there is a possibility the matter will proceed to the council without a formal commission opinion.
