Terni reopens Campo Scuola with new usage fees

The Campo Scuola Casagrande in Terni has officially reopened following a period of closure and renovation. To prevent previous issues regarding facility misuse and degradation, the Municipality of Terni has entrusted the management of the infrastructure to Terni Reti.

New usage fees have been implemented, which has sparked local political debate. According to the municipal tariff structure, monthly fees are set at 10 euros for children aged 6 to 13, 15 euros for those aged 14 to 17, and 21 euros for adults. Athletes under 6 and those with disabilities are exempt from these costs. The administration also offers daily access and monthly packages.

Mayor Stefano Bandecchi has dismissed criticisms regarding the new costs as ‘ridiculous,’ arguing that users should contribute to the facility's upkeep. Conversely, local political representatives from the Movimento 5 Stelle have contested the decision, criticizing both the political choice and the lack of clear communication regarding the implementation of these fees to families.
