Terra Academy for the Arts stages third Àjose showcase in Lagos

The Terra Academy for the Arts (TAFTA), in partnership with Vision Spring Initiatives (VSI), held the third showcase of ‘Àjose’ at the Yaba College of Technology in Lagos. The initiative utilizes theatrical productions and radio dramas to facilitate discussions on sensitive social issues, including justice, healing, social responsibility, and women’s reproductive health.

Through culturally grounded narratives and emotional performances, the production aims to make complex health and social topics more accessible and relatable, particularly for younger audiences. TAFTA founder Bolanle Austen-Peters noted that the project demonstrates the power of storytelling to connect with lived experiences and approach difficult conversations with empathy. Academy Lead JO Umoibom emphasized that the production maintains a youth-centered approach to ensure its themes remain engaging and relevant.
