Terra Nova Medical Clinic opens in Esquimalt

The Terra Nova Medical Clinic has opened at 899 Esquimalt Road in Esquimalt, British Columbia. The new 2,000-square-foot facility features six examination rooms and is staffed by six nurse practitioners who are actively accepting patients.

Designed to provide primary care for approximately 7,000 people, the clinic utilizes nurse practitioners who can perform roles similar to family physicians, including medical assessments, diagnosing conditions, prescribing medications, and providing specialist referrals. The clinic is the 25th location established by Terra Nova across the province.

The establishment of the clinic followed efforts by the Esquimalt council to work with Lexi Development Group to secure space through a zoning covenant that required medical care providers in the building. Mayor Barbara Desjardins noted that the initiative was a response to resident feedback regarding the need for increased healthcare access.
