Terra Sonans festival to debut at Campania's Anfiteatro Campano

The Terra Sonans – Arte, Cultura e Vox Populi festival is set to debut at the Anfiteatro Campano in Santa Maria Capua Vetere from September 9 to 13, 2026. Conceived and directed by Enzo Avitabile, the festival aims to foster intercultural dialogue through music, utilizing the historic Roman amphitheater as a stage for global traditions.

The event is promoted and funded by the Campania Region through Scabec and produced by Black Tarantella in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture. It features six free concerts with mandatory reservations. The lineup includes international artists such as Dee Dee Bridgewater from the United States, Malian musicians Salif Keïta and Rokia Traoré, Norwegian Jan Garbarek with Indian musician Trilok Gurtu, and Iranian performers Kayhan Kalhor, Kiya Tabassian, and Niloufar Mohseni. Enzo Avitabile will also perform a live project alongside Mauritanian-French musician Daby Touré.

Separately, the MediTa Festival will take place in Taranto on September 6 and 7 at Villa Peripato. This seventh edition of the Mediterranean pop-rock symphonic review, curated by the Orchestra ICO Magna Grecia, will feature Magnus Bäcklund performing Queen classics and Italian singer-songwriter Michele Zarrillo.
