Terrace, BC house fire deemed arson as investigation continues

A fire broke out on the 4400 block of Greig Avenue in Terrace, British Columbia, on the morning of August 4, 2026. Firefighters and police arrived at about 10:30 a.m. to find that the blaze had been deliberately set along the exterior of the single‑storey home.

Terrace fire chief Joel Brousson said crews quickly contained the fire, limiting damage to the area where it originated and preventing spread toward the roof. A passerby who noticed smoke called 911, enabling a rapid response. The incident is now being treated as a suspected arson case, and the Terrace RCMP are investigating. Authorities have asked anyone with information or who observed suspicious activity to contact the RCMP at 250‑638‑7400.
