Terrace RCMP concludes investigation into missing Oak Bay teen

The Terrace RCMP has concluded its investigation into the disappearance of 15-year-old Joshua Gates from Oak Bay, citing a lack of recent information or sightings to suggest he remains in Northern British Columbia. The investigation is being referred back to the Victoria Police Department.

Gates was first reported missing in July and was believed to be traveling with 15-year-old Jahmai Nathan Joe. While Joe was found safe, he was reported missing again on August 14. Information previously placed Gates in Terrace on July 14.

Authorities describe Gates as 5’10” with brown hair and brown eyes, potentially associated with a blue Honda Civic (B.C. license plate A53 7SM). Joe is described as having a medium build, 5’8” tall, with black shoulder-length dreadlocks, last seen wearing all black clothing.
