Terrance England admits to 60km pursuit of family over dog theft concerns
Terrance England appeared in the Wodonga Magistrates Court after admitting to chasing a family of five for approximately 60km. The incident occurred last November when the family stopped at Toms Hut near Mitta.
England, driving a black Toyota, pursued the family's vehicle toward Tallangatta under the mistaken assumption that they had stolen his pet dog. During the pursuit, both vehicles were observed driving on the wrong side of the Murray Valley Highway. The chase ended when England's vehicle rolled and landed in a ditch. The dog in question was later located at England's camp.
Prosecutors noted that while England may have been concerned for his pet, his response to those concerns led to the criminal charges. England, who has a criminal record related to alcohol use, stated he had sold his damaged vehicle to a wrecking yard.
