Terranigma to return to modern consoles and PC in 2027
Clear River Games, in collaboration with Square Enix, has announced a modern re-release of the classic 1995 Super Nintendo action RPG, Terranigma. The title is scheduled to launch in early 2027.
This release marks the first time the game will be officially available in North America. The project will be available on multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and GOG. Both digital and physical versions are planned.
Original character designer and manga artist Kamui Fujiwara is returning to the project to provide new key art, in-game designs, and creative feedback. While the new edition aims to preserve the original's atmosphere, pixel art style, and soundtrack, it will include various upgrades, quality-of-life adjustments, and bonus content to suit modern hardware.
