TerraPay and Alipay+ partner for cross-border QR payments

TerraPay and Ant International’s Alipay+ have announced a strategic partnership to facilitate seamless cross-border QR payments for digital wallets. The collaboration utilizes TerraPay’s wallet interoperability network, Xend, to enhance global payment interoperability across Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa.

In the initial phase of the rollout, 15 digital wallets in Africa connected to Xend will gain the ability to pay at more than 150 million merchants within the Alipay+ global ecosystem. This expansion moves TerraPay’s capabilities beyond account-to-account transfers to include global in-store acceptance. The system allows users to scan QR codes and pay using their existing domestic digital wallets while traveling internationally.
