Terraria receives major 1.4.5.7 update for PC

Re-Logic has released update 1.4.5.7 for the 2D sandbox RPG Terraria on PC. Positioned as the final hotfix for the ‘Bigger and Boulder’ update, the patch introduces substantial gameplay overhauls and over 30 new items.

A major focus of the update is a complete rework of the mana regeneration system. The previous delay after attacking has been removed, allowing mana to regenerate during combat at a standard rate, though standing still now doubles the recovery speed. Additionally, the Gem Staves and Gem Robes have been redesigned so that matching sets provide damage bonuses and unique effects.

Combat balance changes also affect whip weapons, summoning weapons, and boss encounters. Improvements to bosses like the Moon Lord aim to reduce unfair hits by adding attack warnings and adjusting projectile behavior. Quality-of-life features include a loadout equipment sharing system and new ways to interact with items like sentries and bombs.

While the update was originally intended for a simultaneous release across all platforms, Re-Logic prioritized the PC version due to the upcoming Gamescom event. Mobile and console versions will follow once they pass the necessary approval processes. The developer indicated that the next major milestone is the highly anticipated 1.4.6 crossplay update.
