Terrassa hosts Seu d’Ègara, a historic monumental complex

The city of Terrassa, the birthplace of footballer Dani Olmo, is home to the Seu d’Ègara monumental complex, a significant historical site located approximately 40 minutes from Barcelona. The complex includes the churches of Sant Pere, Sant Miquel, and Santa Maria, which serve as a living testament to the transition from the Roman era to Christianity.

The site features mural paintings dating from the 6th to the 8th centuries. Local authorities are currently working toward having the ensemble declared a UNESCO World Heritage site due to its exceptional historical value. Beyond its religious heritage, Terrassa is noted for its industrial history as a textile hub, reflected in its modernist architecture and landmarks such as the mNACTEC museum.
