Terrassa seeks UNESCO status for historic church complex
The city of Terrassa, Spain, is working toward having the monumental complex of the Churches of Sant Pere, Sant Miquel, and Santa Maria declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. This historical site serves as a vital link between the Roman and Christian eras, featuring mural paintings from the 6th to 8th centuries.
Beyond its religious heritage, Terrassa is noted for its industrial history as a textile engine in Catalonia, evidenced by its modernist architecture and sites such as the Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (mNACTEC). The city is also the birthplace of professional footballer Dani Olmo.
