Terravecchia road stability concerns raised over SP 260 cavity

Antonio Cristaldi, former mayor of Terravecchia, has issued an urgent appeal to the President of the Province of Cosenza regarding the deteriorating condition of Provincial Road 260 (SP 260) between Cariati and Terravecchia.

A deep and dangerous cavity has formed in the roadway, threatening the structural stability of the artery. There are growing concerns that upcoming rainfall could exacerbate the damage, potentially leading to a large-scale landslide that would render the road impassable and isolate the Terravecchia community.

While the current mayor, Paolo Pignataro, has reportedly informed the relevant provincial offices, Cristaldi noted that no safety interventions or structural monitoring have been implemented to date.
