Terre Roveresche hosts inaugural history festival on Italy’s Years of Lead

The new itinerant history festival ‘Raccontare il tempo’ will launch on September 27 at the Santa Caterina auditorium in Orciano, Terre Roveresche. The inaugural event, titled ‘Neri e Rossi: terrorismo e strategia della tensione’, will feature a dialogue between historian Mirco Dondi from the University of Bologna and Andrea Quattromini from the University of Urbino.

The discussion will focus on the period of political violence in Italy between the late 1960s and early 1980s. It aims to provide a historiographical analysis of conflicts, massacres, and subversions stemming from both neo-fascist and far-left (Brigate Rosse) movements that challenged democratic institutions.

Promoted by the cultural association Macchie e Inchiostri in collaboration with Iscop, the festival is free to the public. Following the event in Terre Roveresche, the tour will continue through the villages of San Costanzo, Fermignano, Colli al Metauro, and Cantiano.
