Terrell Owens accuses Skip Bayless of targeting him to build media brand

Pro Football Hall of Famer Terrell Owens has accused media personality Skip Bayless of deliberately targeting him to build a national brand. Speaking on Max Kellerman’s ‘Game Over’ podcast, Owens claimed that Bayless’s negative criticism during his playing days helped establish a false narrative regarding his character and locker room presence.

Owens suggested that the media scrutiny he faced was influenced by race, stating that Bayless targeted him because he did not conduct himself “the way a Black athlete was supposed to act.” The former wide receiver noted that Bayless’s commentary, including nicknames like “Terrible Owens,” opened the door for other media members to portray him as selfish or unwilling to compromise.
