Terrell Owens criticizes Mike Evans' performance

Former NFL star Terrell Owens has questioned the skill level of San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans. Speaking on his “Get TO The Point” podcast, Owens suggested that Evans lacks exceptional speed and route-running ability, characterizing his recent performances as “really average plays.”

Owens remarked that Evans relies heavily on knowing where to be on the field and receiving assistance from quarterback play rather than pure athleticism. Despite these criticisms, Evans has maintained respectable production through the first six weeks of the season, recording 27 receptions, 420 receiving yards, and three touchdowns.

Evans holds the NFL record as the only player to achieve at least 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first 11 seasons. He is expected to miss the 49ers' Week 7 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons due to injury.
