Terry Fox Run activities and leadership updates in Canada

The Terry Fox Run continues its local traditions across Canada, with upcoming events and leadership transitions noted in Ontario and British Columbia.

In Tillsonburg, Ontario, the annual run is scheduled for September 20 at the Tillsonburg Soccer Park. Coordinator Shelley Weiler noted that the event will feature activities such as a musical tribute, a kids’ craft zone, and face painting. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., with opening ceremonies following at 10 a.m.

In Barriere, British Columbia, the Terry Fox Foundation is seeking a new volunteer organizer to succeed Kathy Cooper, who has led the local run for 19 years. During her tenure, Cooper helped raise more than $167,000 for cancer research. The foundation is looking for a community-minded individual or small team to take over the role, offering training and resources to ensure the tradition continues.
