Terry Fox Run scheduled for September 20 across Canada

The annual Terry Fox Run is scheduled to take place on September 20, with various communities across Canada participating to raise funds for cancer research. This year marks the 46th anniversary of the event, which honors the legacy of Terry Fox and his 1980 Marathon of Hope.

In Strathmore, the event will begin registration at 9 a.m., with the run starting at 10 a.m. In Nova Scotia, 22 events are planned, including a run in Port Hawkesbury starting at 1 p.m. from the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre. Participants in the Quad Counties can choose from 3-kilometre, 5-kilometre, or 10-kilometre routes via walking, running, or biking.

The Terry Fox Foundation has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for cancer research since the inaugural run in 1981. The events are designed to be inclusive of all ages and abilities.
