Terry Fox Runs in Canada raise significant funds for cancer research

Annual Terry Fox Runs in Kimberley and Waterloo, Canada, have successfully raised significant funds for cancer research.

In Kimberley, the event raised $13,636, marking the highest total in the run's 37-year history. More than 200 residents participated at the Kimberley Nordic Centre. Due to a bear sighting on the trail, the six-kilometre route was closed, and participants were redirected to a shorter loop.

In Waterloo, the 48th annual run at Waterloo Park raised approximately $86,000. Since its inception in 1981, the local Waterloo event has contributed over $1.1 million toward cancer research efforts. The event included participation from local officials and support from various community sponsors.
