Terry Matalas reveals details for unproduced Star Trek: Legacy series

Terry Matalas, the showrunner for the final season of Star Trek: Picard, has shared new details regarding his proposed spinoff series, Star Trek: Legacy, which was not greenlit by Paramount.

Speaking at the Star Trek: Las Vegas convention, Matalas revealed that the first season would have focused on the Klingon Empire facing internal instability. The plot would have featured Alexander Rozhenko, the son of Worf, as a central figure amidst the chaos. Matalas noted that the series would have utilized the Klingons to explore political tensions, following the franchise's tradition of using the alien culture as a reflection of real-world geopolitical issues.

The proposed series would have followed the crew of the USS Enterprise-G, led by Captain Seven of Nine, following the narrative setup established in the Picard finale. Despite a significant fan campaign and a petition with over 65,000 signatures, Paramount has yet to move forward with the project.
