Terry Moran calls ABC News a ‘liberal institution’

Former ABC News senior national correspondent Terry Moran has stated that the network is a ‘liberal institution’ due to a lack of viewpoint diversity. Speaking on ‘The Fifth Column’ podcast, Moran noted that this lack of diversity contributed to difficulties in covering Donald Trump, claiming that ‘nobody’ in the newsroom had voted for him.

Moran indicated that he attempted to advocate for fairer coverage of Trump through internal communications, receiving support from some staff members such as engineers and producers. However, ABC News declined to renew Moran’s contract following a social media post in which he described Donald Trump and White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller as ‘world-class haters.’ The network stated the post violated its policies.
