Terry Virts delivers emergency vehicles to Ukraine

Retired NASA astronaut and former U.S. military colonel Terry Virts recently participated in a two-week volunteer mission to Ukraine. As part of a team, Virts helped deliver more than 60 ambulances, emergency vehicles, and small buses to support Ukrainian defense forces during the ongoing Russian invasion.

Virts, a veteran of two spaceflights and former commander of the International Space Station, traveled from Texas to assist with the Ukraine Focus mission. During the mission, he observed the impact of recent drone and missile attacks on civilian life, noting the resilience of local citizens continuing their daily activities despite frequent air defense activity and explosions.
