Teruaki Sato hits massive billboard home run in Giants vs. Tigers matchup

Hanshin Tigers infielder Teruaki Sato made headlines during a game against the Yomiuri Giants at Tokyo Dome. In the ninth inning, Sato hit a massive home run that struck a large advertising billboard, earning him the ‘Big Board Home Run Award’ and a 1 million yen prize. The hit, recorded with a ball speed of 180.1 km/h, drew significant attention from international baseball fans on social media, with many calling for MLB teams to acquire him.

Separately, commentator Takeshi Emoto criticized the Yomiuri Giants' defensive execution during the first inning of the same matchup. Emoto noted that a fielding error during a rundown play allowed Hanshin to score, specifically stating that the left fielder’s throw was poorly aimed and failed to account for the positioning of the runners and the infielders.
