Teruaki Sotozawa to hold Noh mask exhibition in Otaru

Teruaki Sotozawa will hold a special Noh mask exhibition at the Otaru City Public Hall from September 26 to September 30, 2026. This event is noted as a unique occasion, as the exhibition will utilize three Japanese-style rooms within the hall simultaneously.

The collection will feature 130 Noh masks created over 42 years of craftsmanship, along with approximately 50 model masks. This scale of display is described as a once-in-a-lifetime event. Due to the artist's age, this will be the final time he conducts his annual Noh mask exhibition at this venue.
