Teruel farmer dies in fatal traffic accident

Ernesto Puentes Hillon, a well-known farmer in the Teruel municipality of Huila, died following a violent traffic accident during the early hours of Monday morning. The incident occurred on the road leading to the El Pedernal rural district while Puentes Hillon was driving a pickup truck from his farm toward the urban center of Teruel.

Authorities report that the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer abruptly off the road. While the exact cause of the crash is under investigation, transit officials are considering the possibility that the driver may have experienced a microsleep due to the late hour. The impact was severe enough to cause fatal injuries, and Puentes Hillon passed away instantly at the scene.
