Tesco expands presence and services in Slovakia

Tesco is implementing significant expansions across its Slovakian operations, including the launch of a new rapid delivery service and the opening of new physical retail locations.

On October 19, 2026, the company introduced ‘Tesco Hneď’, a service designed for urgent, smaller orders with a delivery target of under 60 minutes. Currently operating as a pilot in five Bratislava locations, the service utilizes Wolt couriers for fulfillment. The rollout is scheduled to expand to 46 additional stores by mid-November, covering various regional cities including Zvolen, Poprad, and Martin.

Additionally, Tesco opened a new 600 m² supermarket in Raková on October 22, 2026. This location brings the company’s total store count in Slovakia to 189. The new facility features six checkout points, including four self-service stations, and aims to serve the Kysuce region by providing easier access to daily essentials.
