Tesco expands rapid grocery delivery with Uber Eats and Deliveroo in the UK

Tesco, the United Kingdom's largest supermarket chain, will extend its Whoosh quick‑commerce service to the Uber Eats and Deliveroo platforms. The Uber Eats partnership is set to launch in August, followed by a later‑summer rollout on Deliveroo. Shoppers will be able to order groceries for delivery in as little as 20‑30 minutes from around 1,800 stores, covering roughly 70% of the UK population. The integration also brings Clubcard prices and points to orders placed through the apps.

Whoosh, launched in 2021, now serves over 1.5 million customers and has helped boost basket sizes and sales. Tesco UK CEO Ashwin Prasad said the move will "bring the benefits of Whoosh to even more customers," while Uber Eats and Deliveroo executives highlighted the partnership’s potential to increase on‑demand grocery access.

The initiative aims to strengthen Tesco’s online offering and capture growing demand for instant grocery delivery.
