Tesla adds in‑car video‑call support to 2026 Summer Software Update
Tesla has begun rolling out its 2026 Summer software update to overseas vehicles, enabling the car’s built‑in browser to request access to the cabin camera and microphone. Owners can now join video meetings on platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Discord and others directly from the vehicle, with the driver’s view automatically cropped and zoomed to stay centered. The feature is limited to models equipped with AMD Ryzen‑based infotainment hardware; vehicles that use Intel‑based systems, typically pre‑2022 models, will not receive the capability. The update also introduces new traction‑control modes, Grok voice commands and navigation enhancements, but the video‑conferencing addition marks the first time Tesla allows any website to use the car’s interior camera and mic for calls.
