Tesla autonomous driving systems tested in Brussels and Cybercab software issues reported
Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology has been tested in European urban environments, specifically in Brussels. Observations from a two-hour journey through the city and toward Charleroi airport show the system navigating narrow streets, tram tracks, and complex intersections. While the system successfully managed certain maneuvers, such as reacting to a reversing vehicle and yielding to police, it also encountered difficulties with complex roundabouts and occasionally made illegal maneuvers, such as choosing incorrect lanes or failing to respect road markings.
Separately, users of the Tesla Cybercab reported software anomalies. David Moss, an autonomous driving enthusiast, noted that a vehicle arrived in a mode typically reserved for manual assistance at superchargers. This resulted in a different touchscreen interface featuring a manual driving joystick and restricted access to standard applications, deviating from the expected autonomous taxi experience.
