Tesla Designer acquires first Model S Plaid Signature Edition

Tesla Chief Designer Franz von Holzhausen has acquired the first unit of the limited Model S Plaid Signature Edition, chassis #001. This vehicle is part of a final production run of 250 units intended for collectors and brand veterans as Tesla phases out the Model S and Model X platforms to focus on autonomous driving technology and Optimus humanoid robots.

Von Holzhausen’s vehicle features a Garnet Red exterior, a tribute to the original Signature Red from 2012, along with gold badging and calipers. The car is powered by a tri-motor setup producing 1,020 horsepower. To preserve the collector’s item, the vehicle was sent to Unplugged Performance in Hawthorne, California, for a comprehensive protection program including paint protection film, ceramic coating, and window film.
