Tesla designer acquires first Model S Plaid Signature Edition

Tesla design chief Franz von Holzhausen has taken possession of the first Model S Plaid Signature Edition, identified by chassis number 001. This limited production run is restricted to only 250 units and is available exclusively via invitation to selected customers.

Rather than pursuing performance modifications, von Holzhausen opted for comprehensive aesthetic preservation. The vehicle was sent to Unplugged Performance in California for a full detailing and protection process. This included chemical decontamination, the application of paint protection film (PPF) to prevent chips and scratches, a ceramic coating for the body and wheels, and UV-protective film for the windows.

The Signature Edition features a Garnet Red exterior with gold accents on the logos and brake calipers, paying homage to the original 2012 Model S Signature color. The interior is equipped with white leather and a yoke steering wheel. Mechanically, the vehicle retains its triple-motor configuration, producing approximately 1,020 horsepower and 1,050 lb-ft of torque, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.99 seconds.
