Tesla increases deliveries from Shanghai factory for eleventh straight month

Tesla has reported an eleventh consecutive month of growth in electric vehicle deliveries from its Shanghai factory. According to data from the China Passenger Car Association, the Shanghai plant delivered 95,366 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles in September, a 5 percent increase compared to the same month last year.

This growth in China has been bolstered by a recovery in the European market. Estimates suggest that deliveries of vehicles manufactured in Shanghai rose by 13.7 percent during the third quarter. To maintain momentum against intense competition in the Chinese market, Tesla has implemented targeted discounts.

In a comparison of production scales, Tesla produced 464,391 vehicles during the third quarter, averaging approximately 5,048 cars per day. This volume significantly outpaces competitor Lucid, which produced 2,954 vehicles during the same period. At Tesla's current production rate, the company manufactures in roughly 14 hours what Lucid produces in three months.
