Tesla launches special ownership offer for Model Y in India
Tesla has introduced a three-day promotional program in the Indian market called the ‘Switch and Save Carnival’, running from October 23 to October 25. The offer aims to encourage internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle owners to transition to electric vehicles by highlighting long-term savings.
Under this scheme, the Tesla Model Y features an effective monthly ownership cost of ₹19,990. This figure is calculated by factoring in estimated savings on fuel and maintenance compared to traditional petrol or diesel vehicles. To qualify, customers must make a down payment of ₹600,000, followed by monthly EMIs of ₹39,990 based on an 8.5% annual interest rate over a seven-year term. Tesla calculates these savings by estimating a ₹20,000 monthly reduction in fuel and maintenance costs.
The Model Y in India starts at an ex-showroom price of ₹5,089,000 with a claimed range of 500 km. The six-seater Model YL version starts at ₹6,199,000 with a claimed range of 681 km. Additionally, the company is providing a Tesla Wall Connector with every car purchased during this event.
