Tesla Model 3 reaches 250,000 miles on original battery

A 2021 Tesla Model 3 Long Range has surpassed 250,000 miles (approximately 402,000 km) while remaining on its original battery and electric motors. Used as a taxi and managed by Richard Symons of RSymons RSEV, the vehicle serves as a real-world test of electric vehicle longevity.

Despite the high mileage, the car has required only one minor part replacement: a failed exterior speaker in the front bumper. Regular maintenance has included six sets of tires, several wiper blades, and various bushings. The rear shock absorbers were replaced with upgraded versions to improve comfort rather than due to failure.

The battery retains approximately 84% of its original capacity. In optimal conditions, the vehicle can cover roughly 284 miles on a single charge. Charging performance remains consistent, with a 11-minute Supercharger stop adding approximately 137 km of range. The vehicle continues to demonstrate performance characteristics similar to a newer model, including a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 3.8 seconds.
