Tesla to inaugurate dedicated Semi truck factory in Nevada

Tesla has announced the official opening of its dedicated Semi truck factory in Sparks, Nevada, scheduled for September 24. The 150,000-square-meter facility, located adjacent to Gigafactory Nevada, has an annual production capacity of up to 50,000 electric heavy-duty trucks.

High-volume production at the site began earlier this year, with the first truck rolling off the line in April. The Semi is available in two versions: a Standard Range model with a 325-mile range and a Long Range model offering 500 miles. Both models utilize an 800kW three-motor powertrain producing over 1,000hp. To support operations, Tesla utilizes its Megacharger system, which can recharge the trucks to approximately 70% in about 30 minutes.

The upcoming inauguration event, titled ‘Tesla Semi Rollout’, will allow invited guests to tour the facility and experience rides in the production vehicles. This move follows Tesla’s pattern of validating production lines before hosting formal celebrations. While the company has already delivered pilot vehicles to customers like PepsiCo, analysts expect total deliveries to reach between 5,000 and 15,000 units this year.
