Tesla plans exhibition and sales space in Argentina
Tesla is preparing to enter the Argentine market through a multi-stage project at the Unicenter shopping center in Martínez. The initiative, announced by Cencosud, will begin in late November with an exhibition space on level 1 featuring two vehicles.
A second commercial phase is projected for 2027, which is expected to include a sales point and a test drive area in the shopping center parking lot with a fleet of ten cars. While specific models have not been officially confirmed, industry speculation points to the Model 3, Model Y, and Cybertruck.
The expansion coincides with recent regulatory changes in Argentina that facilitate vehicle imports. These include an agreement with the United States allowing 10,000 vehicles annually without a 35% extra-zone tariff, automatic approval for vehicles meeting U.S. safety standards, and an increased maximum FOB value for electric vehicles within certain duty-free quotas.
