Tesla reshapes production: ends Model S/X line in Fremont, ramps up Model Y output in Germany

Tesla has dismantled the Model S and Model X assembly line at its Fremont factory, ending 14 years of production. The demolition was completed in 46 days and the space is slated for a new Optimus humanoid‑robot production line.

At the same time, Tesla is expanding its Gigafactory in Grünheide, Germany. The plant aims to produce up to 7,500 Model Y vehicles per week – roughly 375,000 cars annually – and will broaden on‑site battery manufacturing. The expansion is expected to create about 3,500 additional jobs, boosting the local economy.
